CHRISTINA VEGIOPOULOU
MSc ETH Arch
Hi, I am Christina!
I was born and raised in Athens. Having a german mother and a greek father has always made it easy for me to identify with and switch between the two mentalities: the northern one (German) and the southern one (Greek).
Following my creative instinct, I studied architecture at ETH in Zurich. Modernity, durability and resource-saving architecture were and remain my concerns.
I am interested in buildings stories.
Buildings, the places where we live, work and celebrate, involve one of the most fascinating creating procedures. By transforming our projections and visions into form and material, we create spaces that will be used by many generations. The end product, this image that has come to life, awakens emotions, inspires joy, awe, trust, interest, amazement, serenity. It is this hidden story, this story of creation, that makes us feel this way.
I find great potential in reusing existing buildings, mostly abandoned ones. Redefining and creating an identity (the story) for an existing building and thus its environment is an act of restraint, an honor to its cultural and historical value and a contribution to sustainable human evolvement. Innovation and smart materials serve this process.

ILIAS MARCOPOULOS
Lawyer
Ηi, I am Ilias!
Each time I visit my father’s birthplace, a small village in Arcadia, I see great potential in reconstructing the many abandoned traditional houses which contribute to its beauty and picturesqueness.
Working as an Athens-based Lawyer, specializing for over 20 years in real estate consulting, I have developed a rather solid understanding of my clients’ needs where it comes to their ideal real estate purchase. My french roots, from my mother’s side, have also granted me a knack and strong interest for preserving cultural heritage landscape and traditional structures.
We have been a reliable source of services to our foreign clients, throughout the years, as we have dealt with numerous contracts on end, as they rest assured, while being abroad, that all necessary actions are performed in a timely and caring manner, hassle free before, during and after the completion of their contracts.
I always feel particularly excited about plots of land that include traditional structures of any kind. Preserving and reconstructing them is an endeavor that shows love, respect and a sense of giving back to the land and its history.

ANDREAS SKAMBAS
MSc ETH Arch
Hi, I am Andreas!
After my graduation in 2000 at the ETH Zurich as an architect, I continued my studies at the Institute of History and Theory of Architecture at the chair of Prof. Dr. Werner Oechslin. Following my longstanding cooperation in renowned offices in Zurich, for example Boltshauser Architekten and Christian Kerez, I became project manager for demanding public construction projects such as the Zurich Convention Center conversion project together with Diener & Diener and Boesch Architects.
In 2015 I founded together with my partner the office riedel.skambas Berlin. Since 2016 I am appointed as scientific assistant for Architectural Design and Construction Technologies at the Architecture Faculty of the Technische Universität Berlin. My focus is mainly on Design-Build methods in architecture. My research at the chair of Ralf Pasel has evolved to hands-on construction sites such as the project in Bella Vista, Bolivia.
My great affinity for Greece, the keen interest in regional structures as well as a sustainable architecture are always essential in performing my profession.
